20 Ton Self Propelled Transfer Trolley for Large Shipyard Manufacturing Facility

Today’s customer case comes from an industry we have rarely served before, and we hope it will be helpful to other customers in this field. The customer is a large shipyard in Greece, where our equipment is mainly used to transport ship components within the manufacturing workshop.

Previously, traditional manual handling was inefficient and posed potential safety risks, so the customer contacted us through our website. Their requirements were clear: an electric transfer trolley with a load capacity of 20 tons and a platform size of 3000 × 2500 mm. We configured the equipment strictly according to their needs.

During communication with the customer, we learned that the floor conditions in their workshop were relatively poor, with uneven surfaces and embedded steel rails. Therefore, we recommended using φ400 rubber tread tires instead of standard polyurethane wheels. These tires offer better wear resistance and are less prone to damage, effectively extending the service life of the equipment.

In addition, the electrical components of the self propelled transfer trolley are sealed and well protected to ensure reliable performance in challenging environments. For safety, the equipment is equipped with safety bumpers on all sides, which immediately stop operation upon contact with obstacles. Front and rear infrared scanning radars monitor obstacles in a straight line. If a pedestrian or object enters the safety distance zone, the trolley will stop automatically and resume operation only after the path is clear.
