How to Choose the Right Lift Transfer Cart?

Hello everyone! I’m Abby. Today, I’d like to talk to you about lift transfer carts. Peisa Machinery’s lifting series features various types of carts; let’s explore their specific characteristics and application scenarios together.

At our company, we primarily offer two categories of  carts: Hydraulic Lift Transfer Carts and Scissor Lift Transfer Carts.

Hydraulic Lift Carts Scissor Lift Carts

Hydraulic lift transfer carts use hydraulic cylinders to raise the platform. The lifting motion is typically linear, allowing for precise vertical elevation and lowering. We generally employ a hydraulic design for lifting strokes of 30 centimeters or less. Hydraulic lifting offers smooth operation and high precision, making it ideal for scenarios with strict height control requirements.

For example, in a project in Brazil, we supplied a client with a 5-ton hydraulic lift platform designed for transporting square tubing. This platform provided a lifting range of 30 centimeters, enabling the precise transfer of square tubes onto support racks—thereby significantly improving the client’s efficiency in moving workpieces across different work zones.

In contrast, scissor lift carts achieve elevation through a system of interlocking scissor-style support arms; the underlying principle is similar to how a pair of scissors opens and closes to change height. Scissor lifts are best suited for applications requiring a larger lifting stroke—typically 90 centimeters or more. Furthermore, these platforms boast high load-bearing capacity, a stable structure, and reliable safety features, making them an excellent choice for material handling operations involving wide platforms.

In a project in Turkey, we delivered a 10-ton scissor lift transfer cart for transporting steel coils. Given the large overall dimensions of the cargo and the requirement for a substantial lifting stroke of 90 centimeters, the scissor lift design was the optimal choice, ensuring both stability and safety even under heavy loads.

In summary, hydraulic lift transfer carts are best suited for applications requiring a short lifting stroke and precise control, whereas scissor lift transfer carts are the ideal solution for handling tasks involving large lifting strokes, high load capacities, and wide platforms.

Regardless of the type you need, if you have specific project requirements, please feel free to contact us to share your operating conditions and lifting needs. We will assess your situation and provide the most suitable electric transfer cartto ensure the cart aligns with your requirements.
